BYLAW AMENDMENT VOTE PASSES BUT RE-VOTE IS NEEDED
Posted on Aug 24th, 2015
Thank you for the voting on the recent bylaw amendment. The good news: the vote passed to amend the bylaws. The bad news: several of the postmarks were blurred and illegible. Only votes cast with a postmark dated on or before July 24 can be counted. If we can’t read the postmark, we can’t count the vote. Therefore, to ensure that all votes are counted, the board is asking you to vote again. If you did not vote previously, now is your chance. Passing these bylaws is essential to be in compliance with the 2011 Kansas Uniform Common Interest Owners Bill of Rights Act. Lakepoint Master Association has already been operating under the new standard since 2011, however, we are trying to abide by the law by revising our non-conforming bylaws and helping future boards to perform their jobs more efficiently and effectively. These revisions will govern meetings, notices, elections, etc. Please note that we are not revising the covenants, which govern the appearance and upkeep of your home and property. These revisions were prepared by an attorney who specializes in HOA law with the firm Triplett, Woolf & Garretson LLC.
New ballots were mailed Monday, August 24. Please open the letter right away, vote and place your pre-paid ballot/postcard in the mail. All votes must be postmarked on or before September 21, 2015. Two votes per lot/residence is essential, even if there is only one person living in your residence.
