Several people have inquired about highlighting areas of change between the current Lakepoint bylaws and the proposed restated and amended (revised) Lakepoint bylaws. Here is why the Lakepoint Master Board did not do highlighting:

With the new HOA law in place, the Lakepoint Master Board recognized the need to revise Lakepoint bylaws and hired a legal firm that specializes in HOA bylaws, covenants and declarations. That firm is Triplett Woolf & Garretson Llc.
 
The attorney developed our new bylaws to keep Lakepoint in compliance with the new HOA law. The updating process involved formatting and wording changes provided by the attorney and most of these changes don’t alter the meaning from the original bylaws. Formatting changes frequently don’t line up side-by-side with the current bylaws. For example, in the new, revised bylaws, Section 2.8 defines the word “Lot.”  ” In the current bylaws, “Lot” is defined in Section 2.05. Discrepancies like this occur frequently throughout the document to the point that highlighting would be excessive and, according to our attorney, would have been more confusing than helpful.
 
By using an attorney, the board has made every effort to ensure that the bylaws are in compliance and accurate. Nothing is hidden. Every change, whether it is wording, numbering, or actual change of content, is included in the revised bylaws. Comparing the current bylaws to the revised bylaws will have to be a matter of placing the two documents, side-by-side, and reading through both copies.
 
The Board appreciates your taking this extra effort to compare bylaws for this important vote. Without the passage of this vote, Lakepoint will not be in compliance with the new HOA law.
