BMW FINALLY OUT OF LAKE
Posted on Feb 16th, 2012

Driving the car into the lake took a lot less time than pulling it out. It took about an hour and a fleet of tow trucks and equipment to pull the car out from the southern edge of Honeysuckle Lake at 1 p.m. on February 15. The BMW had been in the lake since the preceding Friday.
The BMW's driver, who was charged with reckless driving after the accident, watched as his car was pulled by a large crane-mounted tow truck. A man in a cold-resistant wet suit and snorkle gear waded out to the car to fasten a sling through the car, allowing the crane to haul it to shore. The big event drew a lot of curious onlookers and even the media.
Any damages to the lake or lake banks will be covered by the driver's insurance.
