One resident used a small RC boat recently and discovered it easily spooked the geese. He just shooed the geese  from land to water and the boat took over! The geese flew away and stayed away the entire day.

 

Done regularly, the boat outings may refine your boating skills and discourage geese at the same time. It's best to take your boat out to "play" in the morning, before the geese have a chance to leave messy deposits on the sidewalks. And, it's a good idea to give your boat a workout every day -- you know, to keep that engine running smoothly!
