NEW LANTERN GLASS LIGHTENS LAKEPOINT
Posted on Dec 13th, 2011
Gerald Morton (Gatewood) holds a new polycarbonate panel in his right hand and an old panel in his left. The difference is night and day! Thanks to Gerald for spearheading a successful fund raiser among Lakepoint residents to raise money to replace 32 foggy panels in lanterns topping the entrance brick walls on Central and 13th Street entrances. Each panel cost
$13.41 with tax and the total was about $430. Gerald installed the panels on December 12.
Many thanks to these 10 households who donated to the cause. (Some chose to remain anonymous):

Also, thanks to Susan Hernandez (Country Walk), who used her table saw to trim an edge on some of the panels that were too long to fit the door frame of the lantern.
It is volunteer efforts and donations like this that keep Lakepoint the brightest, friendliest neighborhood in Wichita.
