ABLAHS DONATE NEW LAKEPOINT BENCH
Posted on Nov 14th, 2016
Left to right: Amil Ablah, Obie and Amil's daughter Elizabeth, relax on a new bench they recently donated to Lakepoint. Amil Ablah, who lives with his wife, Carol, in Bradford Place, loves walking in Lakepoint. So does Obie, a French bulldog and Boston Terrier mix owned by his daughter, Elizabeth, Occasionally though, both Amil and Obie like to sit and take in the view of the waterfall. Wanting a bench just a bit closer to his home, Amil, Carol and Elizabeth offered to donate a bench to Lakepoint. Placed just to the north of the Woodcrest Estates entrance, the bench faces the waterfall and is close to the sidewalk.
If you are out walking and take a break on this bench, say a little thank you to the Ablahs. And, since Amil frequently "dognaps" Obie from Elizabeth, you may see Amil and Obie sitting there. Join them. Obie doesn't say much, but Amil has some great stories to tell!
Kudos too, to Gerald Morton, Lakepoint Master Board president, for staining, assembling and installing the bench.
This dedicated man spends so much time working on the Lakepoint landscape, people have actually stopped and asked him to give them a bid on doing work for them! They think he is a hired worker.
Donating benches or trees to Lakepoint are a great way to honor someone. Christmas is coming. Could be a gift idea!
