Elizabeth "Grandma" Layton is my son-in-law's grandmother and she is a well-known Kansas artist with works displayed at the Smithsonian.  This "Thanksgiving" picture is one of my favorites. Here's what she said about it:

 

"I hate to cook, so this is my Thanksgiving, because we have Kentucky Fried Chicken and Oreo cookies, and I didn't have to work at it. I have cooked I don't know how many family dinners. I've given up. So the turkey is outside there, strutting because he didn't get killed. See, it's better for everybody."

 

Since I'm the webmaster (Carolyn Ramsey), I took the freedom of posting this picture. And, since  it will be just Steve and I for Thanksgiving, we may very well feast on KFC and Oreos, too.
